When Worry Takes Over: A Magical Practice for Women
Protection magic, energetic safety, & what to do when fear won’t let go
Before we begin, letβs take a moment to settle with our breath.
Slowly: In through your nose, and out through your mouth.
Again. In through your nose and out through your mouth.
One more time: In. Out.
Good. π©·
You’re here. You’re safe. Now let’s talk about this.
You know the feeling.
It shows up when your child goes out the door. When your teenager hasn’t text you that they arrived safely. When someone you love is late coming home….
When a diagnosis is pending, a procedure is scheduled, a flight is in the air.
When someone you can’t reach is somewhere you can’t see.
Fear. Worry. That particular heaviness that just weighs you down, in your chest, the pit of your stomach, the back (or front) of your mind. Humming. Sometimes intermittent. Sometimes constant. For the woman who loves deeply in a world she cannot fully control.
Most of the time, you manage it. You breathe through it. You remind yourself of the statistics, or you distract yourself, or you just carry it quietly.
Because that’s what you do.
But sometimes it takes over.
And when it does, the overwhelming sense of helplessness is the worst part. Not the fear itself β but the sense that there is nothing you can do.
I want to tell you something important:
That’s not true. There is something you can do.
The kind of protection that’s always there
For as long as women have loved people, they have practiced protection.
Not just the practical kind β the car seats and the check-ins and the careful decisions.
Another kind. The kind that reaches into the places you can’t physically be.
Magical protection uses your very real power to create very real protection around those you love. Your children, your partner, your family.
Your friends, your pets, yourself.
Your home, your vehicle, your teenager’s car….
Imagine being able to protect literally anyone or anything at a moment’s notice.
Not with an elaborate spell. Not with the right tools or exact ingredients.
With your magic. Your power. Your energy.
It is not wishful thinking.
It is not pretending.
It is a real, tried and true practice that works through the same principle as every other form of magic.
I discovered this power in an incredibly dark moment as a mother. I’ve passed it onto other mothers ever since, quietly, woman to woman, for decades. Most women were never taight it. I certainly wasn’t. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t ours to claim.
The moment I discovered this
I was lying in bed in the dark, sobbing.
My child was facing a possible cancer diagnosis. I was not a spiritual person at the time β or at least, I didn’t think of myself that way. I was just a mother who had run out of the “right” things to do.
The helplessness β and desperation β of that moment is something I can still feel if I let myself go back to it.
And then something arrived.
I can’t explain it better than that. A knowing, utter clarity, and deep relief β ancient, like memory, like something I had always known and had somehow simply forgotten. And I knew what to do.
I did it. Right there, in the dark, with tear-stained cheeks and a racing, but steadying heart.
And I knew.
If I could hold this knowing, the diagnosis would never come.
It was weeks before the MRI was scheduled. And even longer until they told me the results.
But I knew before they told me. I had put every drop of my faith into my magic. It could not fail me, because this is a Universe of free will. Of realities we shape.
And this moment was going to prove it to me once and for all.
I was told the results. There was literally nothing of note in the scan. Nothing.
No cancer. No growth. Nothing life-shattering.
Whether or not I changed that outcome, this much is true:
My entire life trajectory changed in that moment. I trusted my magic with an absoluteness from then on. And I used it to protect my family for nearly 30 years since that day.
Zero broken bones. No ER visits. Never a serious illness.
I protected my home in the direct path of major hurricanes.
I protected myself mid-car accident.
And I’ve taught it to other women in my circle ever since.
And in all those years, by all of these women:
Not once has it failed.
What this is not
It is not a meditation, though it can feel meditative.
It is not an affirmation, though it uses intention.
It is not a spell that requires ingredients, timing, or any particular conditions.
It is not something you need experience before it works.
It is a practice. Complete. Immediate. Available to you right now, in this moment, wherever you are.
What to do when worry arrives
The worry is not your enemy.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: worry is a cue. It’s the part of you that loves deeply, signaling β do something.
Not to control. Not to fix. Not to spiral into every possible outcome.
To answer it.
The practice I teach answers it directly. It takes as long as a breath once you know it. It works in parking lots, in waiting rooms, in the quiet of 3am. It works for children, partners, pets, homes, cars, flights, anything care about and worry for.
This is not magic that asks much of you.
It asks only that you believe it’s possible β and that you reach for it.
The difference it makes
Something quiet, but incredibly deep and powerful shifts when a woman has this practice.
She doesn’t stop worrying β she’s a woman who loves people β that’s not the goal. But the worry changes shape. It stops being a weight she carries and becomes a signal she acts on.
She hears it. She answers it. She returns to the power that’s always lay dormant within herself.
That’s not a small thing. That’s the difference between a life spent in low-grade fear and a life spent in the quiet confidence that you have something real you can always access.
And over time, she worries less and less.
Because she’s done her magic.
And she’s learned to trust it.
The wisest women have always had this.
Now you can too.
